John Clayton Mayer is an American singer, songwriter, producer and guitarist. In fact, his love for playing guitar grew when a local guitar shop owner started giving him lessons. He practiced for many years and when he was 17, he began to also write songs. After a period of uncertain mental health, he finished his studies and went to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts to learn more. However, he dropped out and traveled to Atlanta with Clay Cook. The latter is a guy with whom he sang for a while in a band called Lo-Fi Masters.
John Mayer and his colleague didn’t continue with the said band, but Cook stayed and co-wrote Mayer’s solo songs for his first album called “Room for Squares”. Since then, Mayer released 5 more albums, called “Heavier Things”, “Continuum”, “Battle Studies”, “Born and Raised” and “Paradise Valley”. From 2003 to 2009 he won several awards for his music.
