Mara Marini is a brilliant actress who starred in the NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation, among others. Lately, you might have seen her in Black-ish, Alongside Night, Night of the Dead and the Back-up Bride. Although she wanted to be an actress since she was 4 years old, her parents didn’t support her.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Mara Marini was urged by her parents to study marine biology. Although she was accepted to the University of Hawaii, she never went through with it. In fact, she auditioned for and was accepted to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, where she studied acting.
At the beginning of her career, she had small parts in horror movies. Some of them are In The Dark (2004), Slaughterhouse Phi: Death Sisters (2006), Darkworld (2006), Blood Legend (2006). In addition, she also tried stand up comedy, but it wasn’t quite her thing either.
